Stupid Gas Prices

Stupid is my new favorite word. I use it so much that when I utter the word, I could be talking about the fat king kong hog oil companies or the White House.

Gas prices have soared to nearly $4.00 a gallon and are expected to climb over the summer months. For all you people who are not especially good at math, that means that the average American working for $9.00 an hour, needs to work seven hours to pay for fifteen gallon’s of gas.

Wasn’t this whole war supposed to get us some oil? Recently I read an article that the Democrats want Iraq to ante up the rebuilding of their country in oil. Here’s a snippit:

“Democrats plan to push legislation this spring that would force the Iraqi government to spend its own surplus in oil revenues to rebuild the country, sparing U.S. dollars.

Iraq has about $30 billion in surplus funds stored in U.S. banks, according to Levin.”

Let’s see… 115.00 a barrel of oil...divided by 30 billion… works out to 260,869,565 barrels of oil. I think.

Anyway, that’s almost one barrel of oil per American.

I think it’s a swell idea..

Since Nanette is Missing…

How about a little fun! I’m certain you’ll see the truth in this video...besides anything is better than the Obama / Clinton debacle going on in my state today.

Tibet Takes A Stand

Wanted to come out of retirement for a moment to provide a link to some pictures coming out of Tibet.

Warning. The following link contains photographs of a graphic nature.

China shows her true colors.

Farewell but not goodbye…

This last blog has been a longtime coming and probably one of the most difficult blogs to not just write…but to convey to the people who read it.

Seemingly a longtime ago, Nanette had a vision, and by grace I was allowed to partake of that vision. Humanbeams.com was birthed out of her determination to bring the lives, not the news, but the lives of others to the forefront of people’s minds. Nanette is perhaps one of the most kindred people that I know. The sufferings of others quietly outrage her.

Suffering causes me much outrage as well, however my place in life is the same and yet very different from Nanette’s. My place is not on Humanbeams.com

My place is to work with addicts and when I made that decision some time ago, it required a 100% commitment to that calling.

Nanette’s calling is to deal with the suffering on a global scale…I am not nearly as gifted and capable as Nanette to work and organize on a global scale. My calling is to deal with the sufferings of people closer to home and closer to my heart. The only way for me to realize this is to devote my time and efforts fully…to that calling.

As Humanbeams.com rolls on into its tenth year of online publication I wish all of the contributors and the readers well and am believing for another decade of great reading, insight and leadership with Nanette Kelley at the helm of the ship.

Thank you Nanette for allowing me to take part in something beautifully thought provoking and of course, fun.
